This fall, the ANHAM Afghanistan team had the opportunity to welcome several VIPs to its partner Boustan facility on D5. The visit was an exciting time for the whole team to celebrate the inauguration of what is being heralded as the most modern juice and dried fruit factory in Afghanistan, an exciting feather in the team’s cap!

Afghanistan’s Minister of Agriculture was in attendance, accompanied by approximately 300 other interested parties. Local and national media was also in attendance.

The day started with a formal ceremony at the Boustan Fresh Fruit and Vegetables center located inside our D5 facility. This was then followed by the official ribbon cutting ceremony for the “Juice Plant,” and a full site tour of the juice plant and the D5 warehouse.

Mark Webster (DOO) was in attendance as the ANHAM lead for the day and gave an impromptu briefing describing the relationship between ANHAM and our Boustan partners.

After all of the exploring, it was time for everyone to come together to eat!

On the day of the visit, Issa Ezzeddine led the DFAC team who showed off their culinary skills and produced a local menu for 250 seated VIPs. Not only did the food taste amazing, but the display was also an impressive catering masterpiece to all.
