Food Service, Supply, and Distribution

ANHAM provides complete dining facilities operations, and is engaged in a number of such contracts in remote locations around the world. ANHAM has developed a detailed dining procedure that provides a framework to ensure consistent quality in all of our dining facility support services. We have set standards for hygiene and performance, established processes and procedures to ensure uniform service, and trained our personnel to understand that the diners are our customers, and they judge our performance every day.  ANHAM’s team of food service professionals ensures that all dining services are provided in a manner that is sensitive to cultural differences and in accordance with the local customs.

Our chefs are all experienced in western meal preparation, and are backed up by a team of local cooks and assistants knowledgeable in the regional cuisine.  We strive to provide diners with a balanced diet, a wide variety of dishes, superior taste, and quality service at every meal. ANHAM has capabilities to support both the supply and distribution of food.  We use various modes of transportation and strong supply chain networks around the world to transport food supplies in a safe and timely manner.  Our strong relationships with food vendors and suppliers provide us with solutions for procuring and storing food under any circumstances.

As part of our support services for the Taji National Depot, ANHAM constructed and operates a dining facility supporting a LN and Expat population of approximately 900 people.  Under this and other contracts, ANHAM provides both Middle Eastern and Western menus.  All meals are nutritionally balanced in accordance with U.S. Department of Agriculture dietary guidelines.

Key Contracts

Prime Vendor for Food Supply

Iraq, Kuwait, Jordan ($2.16 – $6.47 Billion) – ANHAM is currently contracted as the Prime Vendor for food and personal support products for all military and non-military U.S. Department of Defense personnel in Iraq, Kuwait and Jordan.

As the Prime Vendor, ANHAM is responsible for accomplishing a logistical task of mammoth proportions.  ANHAM is the full-line food vendor for all perishable and semi-perishable food items, all chilled and frozen meat, poultry, produce and dairy products, all fresh and frozen bakery products, all fresh fruits and vegetables, all beverages and juices, and all non-food personal support items for all military and other U.S. funded personnel throughout Iraq, Kuwait and Jordan.  To accomplish this mission, ANHAM operates a vast supply network including sources both local and international.

Under the contract, ANHAM will continue to satisfy an indefinite quantity of orders not only on time and on budget, but under the most extraordinary operating circumstances – whatever they may be.  All transportation of containers into and out of Iraq will occur under the supervision of a U.S. Army convoy.  The system relies on ANHAM’s well-proven warehouse facilities and distribution network. Its duties will be universal – from customer service to the execution of airlifts required to meet demand that cannot be met on time by traditional means.

Iraqi Army Maintenance Program

Iraq ($192 Million) - ANHAM was a subcontractor on the IAMP contract and provided maintenance, repair services and life support.  As a part of the life support services, ANHAM was required to establish and oversee the planning, design, and construction of 10 Life Support Areas (LSA).

The LSAs were designed to provide full support for over 250 employees at each location.  The facilities were designed to house both local nationals (LN) and expatriates, while providing secure entry and exit from each facility.  The LSAs included living quarters for both local national and expatriate populations, a dining facility (DFAC), morale, welfare, and recreation (MWR) facilities, a soccer field, and a power generation facility.  ANHAM supplied comprehensive Life Support Services to more than 2,000 personnel at 15 separate locations.  ANHAM personnel provided latrine and ablution support, including grey/black water processing; housekeeping and janitorial services; facility and equipment maintenance; procurement and logistics support; and lodging and subsistence.  The dining facilities operated by ANHAM prepared 4 meals per day, and include separate local and western menus for more than 2,000 personnel spread across 10 locations throughout Iraq.

In addition, ANHAM recruited a workforce comprised of over 90% Local Nationals, and sourced 100% of supplies through our local vendors and subcontractors.

Supply Chain Management (SCM)

Iraq ($300 Million) – ANHAM was awarded the Strategic Supply Chain Management and Distribution System Contract by the Joint Contracting Command of Iraq-Afghanistan.  This contract, with extensions lasting through 2010, requires ANHAM to provide complete life support services (including lodging, meals, and medical services for 800 individuals), operation and maintenance of residence facilities, facilities maintenance, MWR support activities, services at base dining halls, and the provision of laundry, barber, and refuse collection.  ANHAM provides these services at two warehouse and staging areas located in Umm Qasr and Abu Gharaib for its entire staff, the security force, Government representatives, and visitors to the project.

We constructed 2 new Dining Facilities at Umm Qasr and Abu Gharaib, which provide over 800 meals per day with Western and Arabic menus.  These facilities were brought into full operation and were serving food within 30 days of the completion of transition.
